FAMILI is a collab of Pasifika and First Nations communities highlighting contemporary electronic music. Fresh hip hop, new wave R&B, Oceanic musicality, words, and movement. Focusing on Oceanic, LGBTQIA+ and diaspora experiences.
Curated by Ripley Kavara (aka Lakatoi), and featuring Lay the Mystic, Luscious, Kalala, Lonelyspeck, Iki Finau, Bella Waru, Meleika Gesa, Fatafehi and Lakatoi. Kavara has been working with a suite of 20 musicians to produce inspired music. The Famili Pre-launch event for Midsumma Festival 2020 included performances from the upcoming album. Ripley Kavara is a producer/vocalist born in Papua New Guinea and now based in Melbourne.
